Does your Audi have the battery under the rear passenger seat?

We have an Audi A6 and we had problems with the car battery shorting on the metal work of the seat - has anyone else had this problem? If you do have a battery under the seat is there a protective panel to stop contact of the seat and battery and if so what model of car do you have?Does your Audi have the battery under the rear passenger seat?I dont know anything about Audi's but in the 60's the VW bug had the battery under the rear seat.
