How do I know if the timing belt has been replaced in a 2003 audi A4 without having the service records?

There's currently 130,000 kms (or 81,000 miles) on the odometer. I'm scared to buy it and have the belt go while I'm driving. Is there a way to tell if it's already been replaced? Does anyone know the extent of the damage that is caused when the belt goes while driving? How do I know if the timing belt has been replaced in a 2003 audi A4 without having the service records? The only way to be sure is to change the belt. However some mechanics might put a sticker on the cover. However as i has just got to 80000 i doubt it has been changed yet and is due for a new oneHow do I know if the timing belt has been replaced in a 2003 audi A4 without having the service records? If you are buying it ask the guy/garage to change it as part of the deal, if necessary draw up a contract - pay deposit (if he needs the money to do it) get a work report with warranty. That way you have some comfort for your new purchase. I think the interval is 60K kms

Looked after, the car should last for years and Audis are a pleasure to drive (when BMs are sliding all over the road in winter). I had my pulley slip (broken shaft key) result: cam shaft broken in 4 - bent valves - head scrap - crankshaft scrap. I had a spare head and crankshaft - changed rings - bearings - seals %26amp; gaskets. With ~ 120kK kms there was no wear in the bores. Problem solved. How do I know if the timing belt has been replaced in a 2003 audi A4 without having the service records?engine ceased,

to see if is bad check for cracks and nips, look send of on side etc,

will last longer than your engine, to see if is replaced check if number print is visible no service ever done it usually they just charge for it ,How do I know if the timing belt has been replaced in a 2003 audi A4 without having the service records?
Get it replaced along with the water pump, serpentine belt, coolant, and thermostat.
