Is it a good idea to buy a warranty on a used 2004 Audi A6 quattro?

I just purchased a 2004 A6 quattro 3.0 with 59,600 miles on it. Im wondering if I should get a extended warranty, it seems to be running great and I have read that the 2004 yr is the best one in terms of reliability. Is it a good idea to buy a warranty on a used 2004 Audi A6 quattro?I wouldn't if I were you based on what you said about the car. Those warranties are complete garbage. Look at the fine print about what they will and will not coverage. Consumer Reports rated that vehicle to be very reliable. I have owned Audi's since the 80's and have had very little trouble with them. You have an awesome car. Wait until you drive it in the snow for the first time with the 4 wheel drive system. It will give you the biggest smile on your face. Hope you enjoy it!Is it a good idea to buy a warranty on a used 2004 Audi A6 quattro?Yes it is, But make sure it covers timing belts, tensioner, rollers on your terms-meaning well before they break. It would also be a good idea to read up on your car to understand when certain service is required you can do that by purchasing a Bentley manual on cd through blauparts.com or bentleypublishers.com also sign up with audiforums.com and do a little reading. I own 2 Audi's they are great cars and easy to work on. AT 80K you will need the following things replaced to avoid a breakdown.

Timing belt, tensioner and rollers.

waterpump and thermostat.

valvecover gaskets.

sparkplugs, and check the coils

serpentine belt

replace every imaginable fluid in the car.

transmission filter and fluid change.

Don't let the list scare you every car on this planet needs this work at 80K with exception of the timing belt some have chains. I am only telling you so you can choose the warranty that will suit you best. Most of it is considered maintenance so ask about the wording and ask Audi who they like.
