What kind of springs I need for my audi?

I have a 2001 audi a4 quattro and I am having problems with it. Everytime I hit a bump my car takes it really hard. I was told it is my shocks but I have seen so many types of shocks ones that look like a regular coil while others look like a plate. I need to know which one to get.
