Where is the transmission dip stick for an 1991 Audi?

I am looking for the dip stick for an 1991 audi also need to know what type of transmission Fluid to add if low??Where is the transmission dip stick for an 1991 Audi?It may not have a dip stick. My 1998 does not. You have to check the fluid by removing a bolt on the side of the transmission.

Be very careful about the fluid. 99% of the repair shops will tell you it does not matter just use this universal fluid. Use the exact fluid speced by Audi. Why not? Now you don't have to buy it from Audi, as that might be expensive.

Blauparts dot com seems like a good site.

a%26gt;Where is the transmission dip stick for an 1991 Audi?it is a sealed unit and you have to use the exact type of fluid that the car calls for as stated above. you can check the level by crawling under the car and finding the fill bolt on top. these were designed to be only serviced by the dealer specifically for the fact that 99% of mechanics will give you the wrong fluid leading to failure of the tranny.
