How reliable is the 2004 Audi 1.8LQuattro compared to the 2006 Honda Accord?
I have a 2001 Honda Accord now and i want to change cars. i am attracted to the 2004 Audi 1.8Quattro(45000 miles, $16000) and the 2006 Honda Accord. I think the Audi gives me more features for less than the newer accord. How does the Audi rate in terms of reliability compared to the Honda Accord. I know Honda will be better but is the Audi close or just worse?
I really appreciate any advice (i have done some research but i just want some opinions)
ThanksHow reliable is the 2004 Audi 1.8LQuattro compared to the 2006 Honda Accord? If you are a passionate driver, The audi is a pure drivers car with the ability to customize just about any part. The audi comes standard with 3 braking systems, traction control a 5 valve head and 6 airbags. if the car is an automatic that 5 speed tiptronic is about the best in the industry. You see A4's every once in a while, Accords are generic in styling and are a dime a dozen.

actually the audi is better made and is just as if not more reliable than the honda. It is a luxury car and that means it is more expensive to repair should something go wrong (hardly ever happens) and other than that is a great car I have a 2005 1.8T quattro and to be honest the awd is amazing. How reliable is the 2004 Audi 1.8LQuattro compared to the 2006 Honda Accord?doesnt stand a chance with a honda. nothing in this world doesHow reliable is the 2004 Audi 1.8LQuattro compared to the 2006 Honda Accord?
i would prefer to drive an audi any day, but if it's reliability your looking for i would take the honda. it's extremely low maintenanceHow reliable is the 2004 Audi 1.8LQuattro compared to the 2006 Honda Accord?Well look I had an Audi 1.8T 2003, i got it with 40,000 miles. Every 2-3 months I brought it in to get something repaired, and sometimes the repaired things were once again problematic. So I had a bad experience with my 03 A4.. Then when i went in and got a 06 a4, the dealer told me "yea we had alot of problems with the 03 model".. so yea.. But as of now my 06 audi i got @ 16,000 miles and its great i love it.happys pizza

How reliable will it be though? Is an audi with 104k miles going to be reliable? If well maintained it should be ok with a new belt %26amp; clutch but it does have over 100k %26amp; 10 years old. Should audi dealerships be charging me for this?
i have an audi a3 and i am pretty sure it is having a coolant leak right now. i am bringing it in to the audi dealership today. the car is a 2006 model so it should still be under the 4yr/50K warranty. the car has 3.25K on it. should they be charging me for this checkup?Should audi dealerships be charging me for this? Not at all, it's under warranty.
They should give you a car-wash too.Should audi dealerships be charging me for this?
NO, it should be ocvered under your warranty. You also might get a rental car from them while they are fixing it.Should audi dealerships be charging me for this?depends.... if its general ware n tare they will... its like u cant claim ur brake pads are fading n stuff.. becos it happens...
the warrenty only covers things like manufacturing faultsShould audi dealerships be charging me for this?
This is POSSIBLY under warranty. Until the reason for the leak is determined, or if there even IS a leak, a prediction cannot be accurately made. Chances are if there's a leak this soon, it is covered, and you're good to go. However, was it caused by running over some debris in the road? Did a hose get nicked while someone was looking a your nice new car? Did someone lean on your plastic radiator and crack it? Too many possibilities until its looked at.
-HamboneShould audi dealerships be charging me for this? No, you should not be charged. However, if the cause of the leak is determined to be anything other than manufacturer defect then you will have to pay for it.Should audi dealerships be charging me for this?
I fully agree with Hambone's answer so please wait till the investigation/diagnosis is done and proves to be a real manufacturing defect-then warrant claim is valid.
Cheers!

Why do i have to shift to "2" in my 1997 Audi A4 and then into D to get it to go in D?
I think its the shifter bushing, but maybe the linkage cable is loose, It an auto, and if i go into d it just revs but if i go back to 2 and forward to d its fine so the shifter has slack in it. If its the bushing, where is that located and if its the linkage how do i adjust it? Thanks. Why do i have to shift to "2" in my 1997 Audi A4 and then into D to get it to go in D?follow the cable down to the side of the tranny,,,,I haven been under in audi since the late 80,s but on the side you should see where the cable moves a pivotal pieces of metal that shifts and changes gears. You could have hit something in the road and bent it but the cable could be adjusted there...
if not most audis had the shifter in the floor consol and not on the steering colum,, check to see if the plastics plate covering are preventing it to hit drive,,, its going to look like a cable wire on your cable tv with a small metal wire inside that moves back and forth from the gearshiftWhy do i have to shift to "2" in my 1997 Audi A4 and then into D to get it to go in D?I'm not 100% sure on an Audi. Some European cars use cables rather than linkage. If that's the case the cable could be separating and just simply needs to be replaced.
First thing to do is just get under the car and have a look to see how the transmission is connected and then look at the mechanism. With the car in park and the e-brake on there will still be slack in the cable/linkage so you can track it down that way.

What happens if I don't replace failing catalytic converters on my Audi A4 2002 3.0L?
OBD II codes indicate that something is wrong with my cats. Since replacement is expensive and my car is running, I have been ignoring the MIL light for 6 months. Can I ignore this issue forever? What are the consequences? What happens if I don't replace failing catalytic converters on my Audi A4 2002 3.0L?For some strange reason all 3.0l Audi V-6's have an issue keeping healthy catalytic converters. If you've experienced misfires in the past, they deal a lot of damage to cats and will damage 3.0l cats especially so. If the cats are failed, then the post-cat O2 Sensors cannot do their job properly. If you're in an exhaust inspection state, you'll never pass. Fortunately, engine damage would be a bit of a stretch, since the front O2 sensors can work just fine in adjusting fuel trim with damaged cats. If they get bad enough that they restrict exhaust flow, then you can see engine damage due to incorrect flow past the front O2 sensors. Federal warranty laws state that catalytic converters must be covered under manufacturer warranty for eight years or 80,000 miles, whichever occurs first. If your A4 falls withing these criteria, then you can get some new cats for free! If not, you can replace them at your expense...and if you choose to do so be sure NOT to drive the vehicle if you find it to be misfiring, or you'll be right back where you are now. Hope this helps you out a little. What happens if I don't replace failing catalytic converters on my Audi A4 2002 3.0L?Poor gas mileage, will not pass inspection (if applicable), and engine damage. Are you sure it's the catalytic converters and not the O2 sensors? The converters may be covered under warranty.

Will an a4 audi cost me alot in maintenance for the first 120k miles?
i would like to purchase an audi, but have heard it may end up costing me very much for maintenance throughout its life. but i was wondering if any major problems should be expected in the first 120k miles of easy driving? Will an a4 audi cost me alot in maintenance for the first 120k miles?if you are talking about a new audi then i would say that repairs will be more expensive than a domestic vehicle but you will need to get them done less often. Will an a4 audi cost me alot in maintenance for the first 120k miles? You do not mention the year of this car and if used, how many miles it currently has. Is it an auto or manual transmission?
Whether its easy driving or hard driving, if you let routine maintenance go by the wayside you can expect expensive bills down the road. In the first 120,000 miles of the life for the car you expect to change the timing belt water pump at least once, preferably twice by then. Axle shaft boots will probably have needed a rebuild by then as well as new control arms in the suspension. The engine mounts will need to have been replaced by then as well. If it's a manual transmission you could expect to change the clutch at least once in that timespan as well.
If you budget $2000 per year past the warranty period of the car you should be ok generally speaking.

My Audi A4 1996 model burned the clutch and now cannot start after serveral attempts to force it in gear?
The car was initially starting but could no longer start after something has burned infront as there was smell ad soem smokeMy Audi A4 1996 model burned the clutch and now cannot start after serveral attempts to force it in gear? You do know if you try to bump start a petrol car in gear as you described you will damage the catalytic converter on the exhaust pipe too?
The burning smell could be the starter motor siezed out on the flywheel and you have burned it out!
Like the other guy said, Get a mechanic to look before you do more expensive damage! My Audi A4 1996 model burned the clutch and now cannot start after serveral attempts to force it in gear?
I'm guessing that you tried to start the car in gear. If this is so, the smoke that you saw will have been your starter-motor burning out after the solder in the coils melted due to overheating.

The Engine Management Light on my AUdi A4 started flashing?
I had only just bought an audi a4, 2004 and filled it with petrol. The light flashed on and off for about 20 mins and I had reduced performance in this time. Then everything returned to normal. I phoned the audi garage and they said it was prob dirty petrol and to wait and see if it happens again. SHould I insist on getting it tested? The Engine Management Light on my AUdi A4 started flashing? If the light is flashing quickly (about 3 times a second) and it beeps 3 times, dont drive on it. This happened to me a while ago and I found out that I had an oil leak and nearly all of the oil had drained. That resulted in a broken gasket that needed to be replaced.
A couple symptoms to diagnose this yourself:
Sluggish at low RPMs
Turbo spools too early (if you have a turbo)
White or blue smoke from your exhaust
Could be low on oil, have bad oil, or a blown gasket...but like I said before, if the red light flashes quickly and it beeps 3 times, dont drive on it under any circumstances, have it towed or you will end up with extensive engine damage
let me know if you have more questions- scottyshades@yahoo.com

What is a good insurance rate on a 2007 Audi A3 for 18 year old?
I was wondering what the insurance on a 2007 2.0L audi A3 would be. we curently have a $137 monthly payment with a 2006 Volkswagen Touareg V6, 2001 Ford Sport Trac and a 2001 Dodge Intrepid (my car). What is a good insurance rate on a 2007 Audi A3 for 18 year old?Assuming full coverage, you'll likely be paying upwards of $900 a month for the insurance on that car. If i were to get a muffler or an exhaust system for my audi a6, would i have to get a new rear bumper?
In my a6, the mufflers point down, making them unable to see bc they are behind the bumper. Would i have to get a new bumper to make them fit or is there something i can do with my bumper? If i were to get a muffler or an exhaust system for my audi a6, would i have to get a new rear bumper?if you purchase an exhaust system designed for your car you will not have any worries. if not then who ever installs it can cut off any excess pipping or they can even cut holes in your bumper to make them fit. professionally done of course. best bet would be to purchase one designed for that year make and model.

What can i do to my 2.8L V6 Audi to make it faster?
I have a 2001 Audi A4 Quattro and i want to make it perform better.Ive heard of putting in an exhaust and a cold air intake. How much hp do you think this will add? What do you guys suggest? also if i did put an exhaust which do you recommend? What can i do to my 2.8L V6 Audi to make it faster? You may try to remap your car via a hardware interface. For your Audi you can buy from Ebay a Galetto 1260 interface and remap your car.
You will get 20 - 30 HP.What can i do to my 2.8L V6 Audi to make it faster? You'd probably be looking at an extra 10-15hp realistically by adding those 2 mods to your car. What can i do to my 2.8L V6 Audi to make it faster?damn u better tune itWhat can i do to my 2.8L V6 Audi to make it faster?
More power will give it LOTS OF UNDERSTEER!!! Try to work on this Audi habit by adding some aero parts like spoilers, or bigger brakes.

Should the Audi A4 Cabriolet have the Audi badge on the back?
I bought a W reg UK Audi A4 Cabriolet the other day and i'm really happy with it - but my sis pointed out today it has no Audi badge on the rear boot. Is this normal? I think it looks nice without it, but i'm just curios to know if there was one there in the first place. ThanksShould the Audi A4 Cabriolet have the Audi badge on the back? When the car was new,the first owner would have had the choice whether they wanted the badge or not.Should the Audi A4 Cabriolet have the Audi badge on the back?
Cabriolet? Yeah I'd say You're curious alright.Should the Audi A4 Cabriolet have the Audi badge on the back?yes.
yes I think it should my Audi a4 has the Audi badge on the backShould the Audi A4 Cabriolet have the Audi badge on the back?niiiccceee I like them a lot, i would find out from the person i bought it fromShould the Audi A4 Cabriolet have the Audi badge on the back?
The badge is always there, it's standard.
I've seen alot of Audi A6's that are missing their badges for the fact the the owner decided to take it off.
And yes it does look nice, it makes the car that more unique!
When you order an Audi in Germany, you get the option of the badges being fitted or not...but this only applies to the model. All cars should have the Audi badge front and back. If they are missing then either the badges have been removed, or the boot has been changed (such as after a crash)Should the Audi A4 Cabriolet have the Audi badge on the back?
Audi allow the owner to stipulate whether they want badges on the back of the cars. It is an option.
If you mean the four circles, yes it should.
You can have an Audi de-badged, but they only remove the "A4" and the "2.0t" or whatnot - not the circles.

What should i get? Infiniti G35 Coupe or Audi TT Coupe both are 03s?
I love the Infiniti G35 coupe but the Audi TT is AWD and smaller. I dont know what to get please help. Any advice would be good. What should i get? Infiniti G35 Coupe or Audi TT Coupe both are 03s?The G35 is much better, unless you live somewhere that it snows often you don't really need AWD. The TT has no advantages over the G35 except that it is rarer, so a bit more unique in a sense. The quality of Infiniti is superior to that of Audi and the resale value of the G35 coupe is excellent. What should i get? Infiniti G35 Coupe or Audi TT Coupe both are 03s?
I bought an 03 G35 thank you all so much for your honesty. Im glad i didnt get the TT. Again thanks you all :)
The G35 is much faster on dry pavement.
The Audi TT Quattro is much faster on rain, sand, ice, dirt, gravel, and grass.
The Audi TT is also easier to park and manuever. It is not too low to the ground. With the G35 Coupe, the front bumper will hit everything.
The G35 is more reliable and slightly cheaper to fix.
The TT is cheaper to insure and gets better gas mileage. What should i get? Infiniti G35 Coupe or Audi TT Coupe both are 03s?i got the g35 coupe ( 2003 ) i live in illinois...
its all good in the winter with winter tires on and about 200lbs in the trunk ;)What should i get? Infiniti G35 Coupe or Audi TT Coupe both are 03s?
The G35 is so much better. The TT is a girly car.
The G35's performance is so much better; and you don't really need AWD in a car that is underpowered like the TT; and snow tyres help with traction during the winter for the G35.
I say the G35 also but my opinion is biased. What should i get? Infiniti G35 Coupe or Audi TT Coupe both are 03s?
Depending on what you have owned in the past and what you are looking to gain from it. The G35 coupe has back seats that's still comfortable for 4. The Infiniti has a longer standard warranty. The g35 has 280 hp. The Infiniti has one of the worlds top ten engine 14 years in a row. The Infiniti holds better value. You tell me what makes most sense to you. If you live in the south, get the G35. If you live North in the winter, get the TT.watch harry potter and the deathly hallows part 1

Who agrees with me that unsightly SUVs such as the Cadillac Escalade, Audi Q7 and Range Rover should be banned?
Lets get these ugly polluters off the road. Ban the sale of them, and order existing ones to be clunked.Who agrees with me that unsightly SUVs such as the Cadillac Escalade, Audi Q7 and Range Rover should be banned?I think people should have the right and freedom to live their life as they want too, and it is none of your or the governments business what people drive. I think we need to have a recall on Congress, Senate and House in DC , send that majority of cronies, crooks and IRS cheats to prison.Who agrees with me that unsightly SUVs such as the Cadillac Escalade, Audi Q7 and Range Rover should be banned?
i definitely agree. it can be done, if politicians come up with the idea, of prohibiting the
production and sale of energy devouring cars. the problem, however, is that politicians do
not think for future generations, but for the next election term only and they know that they
would have not chance of getting reelected if they took man's favorite toy away.Who agrees with me that unsightly SUVs such as the Cadillac Escalade, Audi Q7 and Range Rover should be banned?Yeah and I don't want to ride around in one of those tiny smart cars. Talk about unsightly. I have a Ford Explorer and love it. I can afford the gas and I am safe when I and my grand-kids are in it. In one of those smart cars you would be dead on impact. Car Audio: Would it sound much better if I replaced the factory Audi Head unit with a aftermarket deck ?
I added 2 12" Kickers with an Alpine MRP-1000 and the bass isn't hitting like it should. There's also a hissing noise while the amp is powered, with it clicking and popping when its turned on.
Would changing the HU make the bass hit harder and eliminate the hissing ?Car Audio: Would it sound much better if I replaced the factory Audi Head unit with a aftermarket deck ?The other answer is correct in that the clicking and hissing isn't just because you have a factory head unit. There's something wrong with your installation (ground, LOC, etc). If it wasn't professionally installed it would be a good idea to have someone take a look at it for you.
With that said, of course you're going to have a better system with an aftermarket head unit. For SQ there are some factory head units when adding certain aftermarket solutions on the market that can sound good, but if you're going to spend all that money it just makes more sense to replace the radio (if it's possible). For starters as long as you're not trying to by something entry level you're going to end up with more features. With a decent radio you can get Pandora support through the iPhone app (if you're an iPhone user), HD radio, Bluetooth, and even Nav in a double din. For SQ if you choose an aftermarket radio that has a parametric EQ, crossovers, time alignment, and 4V preouts those are all features you never see in a factory radio. Also you can find yourself something with a 24 bit d/a convertor too. It all depends on your budget but replacing the head unit can have a big impact on the overall SQ of your system.Car Audio: Would it sound much better if I replaced the factory Audi Head unit with a aftermarket deck ?No it would not. A lot of people do not realize that MOST factory head units are better quality in sound quality than an after market one. The noise you are hearing is most likely ground loop noise. You prob do not have a good ground on your amp. Or it could link back to your LOC (line output converter), you prob used one because it is a factory head and will not have RCA outputs. If you wired this up wrong it can be your problem. Also do not run your power wire and RCS's on the same side of the car. You did not give me much info so this is the best help i can really give with the info provided. Hope I helped.

What kind of coolant am I supposed to put in my 1998 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro?
do not listen to these other guys!!!! G12 coolant only!!!! On the coolant reservoir it has a picture of a book with an exclamation mark and "G12" for a reason!!! do not use anything you get at autozone; yes it's cheaper but it can cause serious problems. G12 is somewhat expensive but you can do a 50/50 G12/Water mix. The only place you can get it is at a VW or Audi dealer. What kind of coolant am I supposed to put in my 1998 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro?Did you look in your Audi manual that should be in your glove box? Do you mean like for the air conditioning or engine coolant? Engine coolant, Prestone or any brand name will be ok to use. Check you local auto parts store to see if they are online and have a search. You can usually find what you need there! What kind of coolant am I supposed to put in my 1998 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro? Not sure exactly which coolant it is for that year. Recommended that you use G11 or G12 by the dealer. Other coolants are supposed to mess up the cooling system. I used prestone in my 2000 vw which uses the same coolants as Audi. I did end up having to replace a few cooling system parts and now I just buy the G12 from the dealer. It will cost you around $20. I have seen it online it the past but not sure at what price it wasWhat kind of coolant am I supposed to put in my 1998 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro?Use VW/Audi coolant or equivalent only. Either get it from the dealership or from a German shop. If you're in a bind, it's better to just add water as opposed to adding in the green stuff. The green stuff should never be used on your Audi. As far as I know, the only equivalent brand other than VW/Audi is Pentosin. It comes in a 1 liter bottle (undiluted so you have to mix it with water) and costs around $13...cheaper than the dealership stuff. :-)
Can i rebuild or adjust the electricity system of my old car(audi 80) model 1975 on my own?
will it be difficult for me to do it ? i may have a slight background about electricity issues as a communications and electonics engineering student , and i think it would be alittle difficicult for me but can i do it ? can any one tell me how to do it and how to begin ? are there sites can help me do it ?can someone specialized tell me how to begin ?Can i rebuild or adjust the electricity system of my old car(audi 80) model 1975 on my own?Everything starts with what the problem is. You work on individual electrical problems. So specify your first problem. Does it have a good battery to test the electrical systems with? If not, you need one. You also need a Digital Multi-Meter (DMM) so that you can measure resistance (ohms), current (amperes) and voltage.

If it isn't charging it is probably the alternator or battery, check those first. That old of a car should be pretty simple compared to the new electronic car. Your question really doesn't say what you are trying to do or what is the problem. Is the Audi A4 or the BMW 335i a better car?
My father was just trying to decide which car to get. He really really wants a BMW but i'm thinking that the Audi is a better all around car. I'm just looking for viable opinions. Is the Audi A4 or the BMW 335i a better car? What year?
I'll assume 2008 new.
According to Consumer Reports, the 08 4 has top marks in most areas. For power equipment it's only average.
Squeaks %26amp; Rattles, Body Hardware, Power Equip. and Audio system are listed as one step down from Better.
The 335i awd had top marks except for Transmission Minor, Fuel System, Electrical System, Climate System, Squeaks %26amp; Rattles (one step down), and Body Hardware and Audio System were average.
The same car in RWD was very similar but was one step up from worst in Fuel System, and average in Audio and power equipment.
The coupe/convertible was better than both with one step down from best in Engine Major and power equipment, and average body hardware.
But overall, the AWD version got the best prediction.
If you're a subscriber you can see this for yourself. If not, you can get an idea of what I mean by one step up or down by going to the site and looking for used car rankings. You won't be able to see the detail but you'll see their rating system.
I know this isn't a bible, but I can tell you that for us, they've been spot on with at least 3 cars we've owned. 91 SHO - as predicted it had electrical problems. 97 Aurora - lemon. And at least one other prediction that came true that I can't recall offhand.
If it were me making this decision, I'd take these rankings into account, but just because the Audi got better marks doesn't mean the BMW should be out of the picture. By no means was it badly rated!
The other advantage is that with the BMW, you have a lot of different options. Since he's comparing two reliable cars, he should just choose whichever one appeals most to him.
He'll be getting a good car either way.Is the Audi A4 or the BMW 335i a better car?
If I were to place these vehicles into placements based soley on performance, the BMW would have slightly edged the Audi and only because of power. If comparing the old 330i and A4 3.2, the Audi would most certainly have taken my vote. So, best performing car goes to the 335i, best all round car would go to the A4. I am sure by that time, this comparison will be much closer. If Audi bumps up its' power a bit for the A4, then that would most certainly also make the competition tough. Is the Audi A4 or the BMW 335i a better car?I agree with the other people that have chosen the BMW. To get the same kind of performance as the 335i in an Audi, you would have to buy an S4, which is a cool car, but a lot more expensive than the Beamer. My uncle has a 335i and loves it. Its a great looking car. My dad, a former Formula Vee amateur driver, loved the power in that car as well as the handling. The Audi is a good car, but my friend's father has one and has been griping about for a long time because of all the repairs to it with the problems ranging from the electrical window systems to the engine. Overall, the BMW is a much better car and gives you a lot more bang for your buck.
We have both in our family - I have the 335i, my wife the Audi. They are both very good cars, but for performance, acceleration, handling and braking - sheer driving exhilaration - I definitely prefer the BMW.
Someone mentioned the BMW being unreliable, but I don't know where they got that, this is my fifth BMW and I have never had a mechanical failure. Many friends and family have similar experiences. I have a friend with a twenty year old 8 series V12 coupe and it looks, goes and even smells like a new car. They are built to last.Is the Audi A4 or the BMW 335i a better car?I have both an Audi and a Bimmer and contrary to what somebody just said that Audis are more reliable than the BMW.Since when? Audis hold their price better? When? Probably because BMW owners never sell their cars until they are too old and not running. But in my own experience my BM for 5 years performs a lot better, handles better and never breaks down. I bought a new Audi in May last year, better in snow by the way but from May to December 5x it kept going back to the dealership for "check engine" and couldn't find fault, malfunction indicator, electrical problems etc. It is a beauty but boy thanks for the back up car- the reliable one.Is the Audi A4 or the BMW 335i a better car?
nooooo sir the bmw will out perform and outlast that pos audi A4
audi uses VW parts and as nice as they look they are decieving if you gona get an audi dont get the A4 get the new Rs5 that right there is a beast.
MAN THIS CRAZY i am having the same dilemma Audi or Bimmer or Audi or Bimmer I don't know I think I am going to look for a used A8 but my wife has an A6 I don't wanna be a copy cat BIMMER it is.
Or maybe an Audi
Audi or Bimmer or Audi or Bimmer or Audi or Bimmer or Audi or Bimmer. Is the Audi A4 or the BMW 335i a better car?
We're talikng bout A4 here not S4. The 335 outperforms the A4. If it is the S4 then I'd say M3. But if you live in a place where it snows, the Audi would be a nice idea although you'll probably take it more often to the dealership for numerous faults. Beautiful car but disapponiting.
It depends on what you like better. If the Audi was the RS4 then the Audi is better but if you just want the A4 vs the 335i its his own personal preference. And just remember the 335i won Coupe of the year in Top Gear Australia magazine.
This depends on what you like. I'm a BMW guy. I drive BMW, but my wife drives Audi A8. Comparing A8 with BMW 323i, Audi is an art and BMW is a doodling on a napkin. If I get Audi, it would be only S4!!!
get the S4... or an RS4. You will enjoy it better than the BMW. The idiot who said that they use VW parts.. Duh. I can think of a few cars that BMW used VW parts and Porsche used Audi parts.
the bmw is sexyer
but the problem is bmw arent very relable cars so i would go with the audi
def the bmw, better looking car , faster , better handling , better body work etc
A-U-D-I. Audi. you can get a turbo 4 cylinder if you care about fuel effciency or a standard V-6.

How should I go about upgrading the Performance on a 2009 Audi A4 Quattro 2.0T?
How would I go about doing it. It looks great and the Handling is amazing but if i wanted to give it a little more kick, how would you suggest I go about doing this, if its even possible. Be as specific as possible if you can. ThanksHow should I go about upgrading the Performance on a 2009 Audi A4 Quattro 2.0T?My advice is buy an S4.
Trying to upgrade an A4 2.0T can cause problems; my brother tried to do it with the help of a Puerto Rican expert but his car was completely destroyed. The problem with Audi is the Electrical system; it's very complicated and any upgrade that would involve electrical shoud be aborted. How should I go about upgrading the Performance on a 2009 Audi A4 Quattro 2.0T?For engine upgrades, which is what it sounds like you want, try an aftermarket intake (for example K%26amp;N) or exhaust (Borla, Flowmaster, etc.). Those won't be too expensive for you.
Personally, I would invest in some higher end tires, brakes and suspension.

Can a California correctional officer afford an Audi A4?
I was just wondering because i was thinking about becoming a correctional officer after high school.I heard they made pretty good money, and I have always liked Audi. Can a California correctional officer afford an Audi A4?It's all about priorities and spending/saving habits.
If you have a goal, and work your finances around that goal -- you can make it happen. An Audi is not out of reach... you just may have to make certain sacrifices to get to that goal.
Plus -- Corrections officers notoriously have a ton of overtime available to them, especially in my state (CA).Can a California correctional officer afford an Audi A4?No. The A4 is a entry luxury car. They wouldn't make enough for that. Now an engineer on the other hand would be in position to afford an A4.
Just as a rule of thumb, the vast majority of jobs that don't require a bachelors degree will not provide you with enough money to drive an A4.Can a California correctional officer afford an Audi A4?yes it all depends on your spending habitsCan a California correctional officer afford an Audi A4?
You can probably earn $50,000+ your first year. Considering you live with your parents and have no real bills you can pay it off in no time.

I have a 1998 Audi A4 Quattro 2.8 auto that is hard to start when the engine is cold.?
It always starts but it takes 5 to 7 seconds of cranking before it does. When warm, it starts right away. I am concerned that my starter will give out if this continues. The dealer effectively says to "live with it". The check engine light is not on, and there are no computer fault codes. The car has 95,000 miles on it and all normal maintenance has been done.
Does anyone have any ideas that I can try?
Thank you in advance.I have a 1998 Audi A4 Quattro 2.8 auto that is hard to start when the engine is cold.?The fuel system is suppose to be in constant pressure even with the engine off. It might be that your fuel pressure is dropping after the engine shuts down (for a long time).
Try doing this: start the car cold (crank it for 5 to 10 second like you normally do). Let it run for about 5 seconds. Shut it off. Now try to start it again. If it started easily, then it is the fuel pressure problem (because now the pressure is back up). If it still have problems starting then it is probably something else (temp related).
I agree with your dealer, live with it. It is cheaper to replace a starter then to go chasing ghosts.
Good Luck...
P.S. I own 2000 Audi A4. Normally I would suggest you fix a problem while it still small before it become big problem. But I have a feeling this problem is not going to get any bigger.I have a 1998 Audi A4 Quattro 2.8 auto that is hard to start when the engine is cold.?i dont know. But Great Car!I have a 1998 Audi A4 Quattro 2.8 auto that is hard to start when the engine is cold.?I say don't fix something that's not broke. The starter might go bad, it might not.
I would suggest not going through a dealer for repairs, go to a reputable repair shop and ask for their advice.

Is there a better luxury sports car for the price of a audi TT?
I'm looking into getting a Audi TT coup quattro 2003-2006 for around 15k. And was wondering what other options are available in this same year, body style and price range? It must have leather seats, and a turbo engine. Is there a better luxury sports car for the price of a audi TT?* BMW Z4
* Mazda RX-8
* Honda S2000
* Mercedes-Benz SLK
* Pontiac Solstice
* Saturn Sky
* Chrysler Crossfire

don't buy an Audi.
very expensive to own and repair.
a few owner reviews:
This year the clutch went out, NOT UNDER WARRANTY, cost me $2200, last month. This month: two days ago, no power, I had to drive it home, short distance, at 20 mph, at one point I took my foot off the gas and it kept going. Service dept. doesn't have a clue, yet
Have had problems with excessive oil use %26amp; engine problems, windows don't always work, inside breaking and ripping.Like the looks, but disappointed in the mechanics of this car. Feel like I have had problems with 1 thing or another since we got it.
I have had more problems with this car than any other I have previously owned. The car is loaded with accessories that seem to malfunction. I tend to visit the Audi dealership at least one per month the have repairs done to this car. The engine is underpowered for a car of its price, and the acceleration is comparable to a family sedan. Break dust is another nuisance with this car...be prepared to spend time getting very closely aquainted with your wheels as you will be spending a great deal of time trying to keep them clean.
Overall Review:
As far as looks go, this car is quite appealing. However, I believe that Audi needs to boost the base engine on the car. The last thing anyone wants is a sports car that performs like a 4-door sedan. The instrumentation in this car is very well done. However, overall the quality of the car is lacking. Over the course of 2 years i have had constant problems with this car...ranging from window malfunctions, engine light constantly illuminating, signal lights not working, mirrors vibrating too much, ignition coil malfunctioning, etc. A lot of these aren't serious, but they are a distraction as you are having to constantly go to the dealer for repairs.

don't buy an Audi.
very expensive to own and repair.
a few owner reviews:

Just bought a 2000 Audi A6 2.7T, what would happen if I put reg or mid grade gas in it?
I know premium is the recommended fuel for this car. However, I'm also a college student looking to save a buck here or there so I was wondering what the repricussions would be if I put lower grade fuel in. Would it damage the fuel system or engine in any way, or would it just hurt the performance. Obviously if it would cause major problems that would be expensive to repair, I would rather just pay a little more for gas.Just bought a 2000 Audi A6 2.7T, what would happen if I put reg or mid grade gas in it?actually you can get away with 89 octane, there are different methods used for determining fuel grades and 89 is fine in the US. Read your owners manual, then compare the rating with the rating at your favorite gas stations. Stick with the big names if you can. I have/had Audi 200's, Volvo turbos and an S4, in all but the S I ran 89 without issue.Just bought a 2000 Audi A6 2.7T, what would happen if I put reg or mid grade gas in it?Heres what you need to know VERY VERY IMPORTANT the octane rating on gas is called ANTIKNOCK when an engine knocks it will cause major major major major MAJOR problems, all turbo charged and super charged cars require premium gas to prevent the knocking, I also recommend making sure you get a half way decent brand of premium gas, some guys will tell you you can buy regular and put a gas additive in, I don't think its worth the risk. Not to mention the knocking noise will VERY annoying lol.Just bought a 2000 Audi A6 2.7T, what would happen if I put reg or mid grade gas in it?Turbo engine - use the highest octane premium gasoline; or .......walk......Just bought a 2000 Audi A6 2.7T, what would happen if I put reg or mid grade gas in it?
There are 2 ratings for octane...HOWEVER, if you look at the inside of your gas door, you'll see that according to the R/M+2 rating method (which is what most gas stations use - you need at least 91 octane. DO NOT USE anything else. You will damage your engine, void your warranty, and God only knows what else. Go with 91 or 93 and you should be safe.

When and why did Audi stop making the A2?
I was thinking of buying one last year but waited when I heard that they were going to make a 3 door version. I can't seem to find it listed on their website or in any magazines for 2007 - anyone know why? When and why did Audi stop making the A2?The Audi A2 was a premium supermini produced from 1999 to 2005. The last cars left the Neckarsulm plant in July 2005
The A2 was built using considerable aluminium alloy content, providing significant weight advantage over similar sized cars. Unfortunately, the cost of working with aluminium, particularly with small production runs, meant that the A2 was more expensive than its competitors. Thus the slow sales and lack of marketing from Audi.
Despite earlier rumours towards the end of the A2s production life about a second generation Audi A2, it is thought that Audi instead plans to launch a more conventional Audi A1 model around 2009 to compete with the MINI.
There is no official word from Audi. When and why did Audi stop making the A2?
The Audi A2 was ceased in 2006 due to poor sales figures and the fact that it no longer fitted into the "Vorsprung Durch Technik" design programme.
A similarly shaped new model (tall and short) is due in September 2009 to rival the Mini. More practicality is hoped for, with Audi turning to sister Volkswagen for influence. When and why did Audi stop making the A2?cos their crap hahahaha
This should explain itWhen and why did Audi stop making the A2?They never ever made a 3 door versionWhen and why did Audi stop making the A2?
The A2 did not exist in 3 doors. It was too expensive to produce (because of its aluminum structure) and pricing was high. They might produce a new baby Audi (smaller than the A3), it may be named A1 or A2, will not be aluminum structured, and might share its mechanical components with VW Lupo.
Hi 2006 the last one rolled of the prodution line, but the all new a2 will be going into production soon but its not an all alu shell like the last one,When and why did Audi stop making the A2?
call a dealer and ask...easy huh...lol

Can any good mechanic change the alternator to an Audi?
I have a 2001 Audi A4 and the alternator is shot. Should I take it to the dealer, or can any good/reputable mechanic take care of this issue? Is the alternator for the audi common knowledge as it would be for a Nissan/Honda? I know there are some things that one must go to the dealer for....Can any good mechanic change the alternator to an Audi?any good mechanic can change it. Allot of times if you look in the city there are independent shops the specialize in Audi/Volkswagen/Porsche or mercedes etc they are a really good shop to take it too they really know european cars. Can any good mechanic change the alternator to an Audi?any good repair shop should be able to change that one out, everything don't have to be done to those cars from a dealer, their not that hard of a car to work on,good luck. Can any good mechanic change the alternator to an Audi?I would find a independent mechanic who specializes in german cars. You need a different type of tools to do the job properly. He can also advise you on any other repairs needed and will be cheaper then a dealer.cheesecake factory locations
I have a 98 audi a4 2.8 avant and the rear passenger side wheel is canted on the vertical axis?
Basically the wheel is not perfectly straight up and down. When I go over bumps on the passenger side the car bucks and pulls right. Is this wheel the cause of that, and how do I fix it? Thanks people of the world.I have a 98 audi a4 2.8 avant and the rear passenger side wheel is canted on the vertical axis?First, if you have a quattro I would advise you to be extremely careful where you take your Audi for service. More than half of the vehicles I see come into service for tire issues are caused by the improper alignment or balance of a tire. With a quattro there can be serious damage if you put the vehicle on an alignment machine that is for front/two wheel drive machine. I would call your local Audi service department and speak with one of the service writers. It is free to call, and they can advise you as to what they think the problem is, and then if there is any action needed to solve the problem they are more than happy to help you find a solution.I have a 98 audi a4 2.8 avant and the rear passenger side wheel is canted on the vertical axis? It sounds like the camber adjustment bolt is loose, way loose, that or a bearing about to fall off. Don't wait, get this thing to a shop that dose alignments, they will give you an estimate for the repair. You decide from there what to do.I have a 98 audi a4 2.8 avant and the rear passenger side wheel is canted on the vertical axis?what your calling canted is actually called camber. There is no real camber adjustment on the rear of your audi so something is broken. Or, and this might sound dumb but have you checked that the rim is not loose on the hub. Check the lug nuts first, and quick!...
How many hours should it take for a good mechanic to replace an alternator in a 1998 Audi A6?
just a guess , it could be weird on an audi. i'm no mechanic and i can change an alternator in like an hour. How many hours should it take for a good mechanic to replace an alternator in a 1998 Audi A6?I'm not sure but mechanics use a book that describes each type of job they do and bill according to the hours the book says it should take. So even if your mechanic is decent and knows his stuff they will bill you the time the book says,,,even if it takes 1/4 of the time. How many hours should it take for a good mechanic to replace an alternator in a 1998 Audi A6?It should take a 1 hour and a 1/2 to replace an alternator. How many hours should it take for a good mechanic to replace an alternator in a 1998 Audi A6?An Audi dealership will be charging about 3 hours, assuming it's a 2.8 V6. It does take about an hour for a good mechanic.
Where should i sell my Audi TT hardroof?
I bought an Audi TT converitble over 2 years ago and it came with a detachable hard top colour coded. Since removing it, it has never gone back on. Apparently its worth a fair bit of money but i dont have a clue how and where to sell it, or what it is worth. Any help would be much appriciated.Where should i sell my Audi TT hardroof? If you ever plan to sell your Audi TT, having the hardroof included in the sale would definitely give you more bargaining power (except Audi dealers, they'll always low ball you).
But I also understand that sometimes you have car accessories that end up taking up space and never get used.
Your best option is to sign up on an Audi forum, like Audiworld.com or quattroworld.com. Not only will you find the right audience but you'll find someone in your area that would also be fair on price.Where should i sell my Audi TT hardroof?
I agree with the last guy - keep it to sell with the car unless you're broke.

What sort of additional electrical damage could a faulting Audi A4 ignition switch cause?

I want to sell my Audi A4, where do I start?
1998 Audi A4 in excellent condition, low mileage and comes with all the trimmings (a/c, sunroof, heated seats, tiptronic, abs etc). Dark green exterior, tan leather interior. Located in Toronto, Canada.I want to sell my Audi A4, where do I start?First, I would start by cleaning it up real nice. Take some digital photos that compliment the car.
Second, think about a good write-up you can use on the below links. Be sure to emphasis the fact that it has low miles and superior condition. I would also suggest advertising the vehicle for about $500 to $1000 dollars more than you would like to get. That way if you get what you list it for great, if not you have room to barter.
Another good site to check out is http://www.kbb.com/ Kelly Blue Book to get a rough estimate of what your car is worth. However, keep in mind this is a "Rough" estimate.
I believe Kelly Blue Book Generally gives you a low ball figure. The last link is a Audi Forum that would get your car a lot of exposure to Audi Owners and Buyers. I would highly recommend posting there as well. Good Luck

How do you take apart a 2006 (or newer) Audi A6 door panel?
Have to replace the window switches, and have no clue where to beginHow do you take apart a 2006 (or newer) Audi A6 door panel?first of all, are you a mechanic?
if not, go to one
but if you still wanna take the risk, i will tell you a few things i know
and this only works for electric windows not the old ones
first open the door and under the window is the thing covering up the window motor(i don't really know what the thing is called, we will call it thingy for now)
you will see a bunch of bolts at the edges of the thingy and you just have to unscrew them and pull out the thingy.
then you will see the switches and get help on replacing them.
maybe you should check if it is the switch or the window motor that has a problem, before you waste your money on a new switch!
i still suggest go to a mechanic though! if you can afford to buy an Audi A6 i am pretty sure you can afford to see a mechanic.
hope that helped!

When to change the Timing belt on a Audi TT?
Have a 2002 TT with 50K, should I get the timing belt done now or wait till 75k? I have read some horror stories about the belt breaking causing over $6000 in repairs. When to change the Timing belt on a Audi TT?I had an 01TT Quattro Roadster and my shop has done timing belt jobs on them as well. YES, change the timing belt. But I don't think the main problem is timing belt failing. #1 is the water pump and #2 is the tensioner. You usually have some warning with tensioner failure. You'll hear what sounds like a knocking noise, which is the tensioner flopping around because the hydraulic fluid has leaked out. The water pumps are well known to fail prematurely. Audi used plastic impellers in the water pumps. It is very common for those impellers to crack or dissentigrate. When they fall apart, the pieces end up lodged in unknown places. Don't have an OEM water pump with the plastic impeller installed when you have the timing belt done. If the shop doesn't know where to get a water pump with a metal impeller, order it yourself from ECS Tuning. As a matter of fact, order the entire timing belt kit, as it also includes the tensioner. The metal impeller water pumps from ECS are made by the same company that makes the OEM water pump. So, they are exactly the same except for the impeller. Do not get the water pump from the dealer because they still use plastic impellers. My personal TT had about 65K miles when I did the timing belt. The impeller was missing pieces and crumbled when I pressed on it with my thumb. The other TT's we've done timing belt jobs on have all had either cracked impellers or missing pieces. With the new water pump, you'll be good for 75K.When to change the Timing belt on a Audi TT?
I have a 2003 Audi A4, the warranty is amazing if it is under or around 50k take it into the shop and get it serviced FREE under warranty, and ask them about the belt. I would also assume that if you don't race your TT every night the timing belt should be fine, depneding on your service rep they might give you a little crap if it's over 51k but just tell them when the last service was and what you are planning "with your next Audi (just to make them fell better)" and you should be fine. When to change the Timing belt on a Audi TT?There is no one who can predict when or if your belt will go. You're right. On that car the damage caused by a broken timing belt will be costly. Here's an idea. Change the belt and stop worrying about it for another 50K. The peace of mind is priceless. When to change the Timing belt on a Audi TT?
Personally, I would go with 50k intervals. Since the eng. is an interference fit, the price of a belt pales to the cost of engine work, (valves, guides etc.). Not to mention the cost of peace of mind. Good thinking man. When to change the Timing belt on a Audi TT?would do it before 70K maybe around 65K. mocowma has some good advise i would buy the kit and have an Audi or German car specialist install it (cheaper than the dealer). When to change the Timing belt on a Audi TT?
You should change it at these intervals. You should get it checked now to see if it is in good shape. If it is in good shape, then wait until 60,000 miles to change it.
60,000 miles
120,000 miles
180,000 miles
240,000 miles
depends, is it belt or chain? If it is actually the normal kind then it is 60k miles, chain lasts up to 100k.
Audi huh? That sucks, it will cost you an arm and a leg.word twist

What car is the car closest to an audi with better reliability?
I want a compromise in performance to reliability but compromise nothing on interior luxury. Looks cant be pontiac aztec though :)What car is the car closest to an audi with better reliability?Go with an Acura or Lexus, German cars tend to be at the bottom of the heap in reliability. I used to be a Benz tech and, know that last year Benz was dead last in reliability. BMX and Audi were very close. Toyota, Honda, Acura were at the top. Now I'm a Cadillac tech and it's a little better (reliability). Truth be told, Benz's are awesome to drive if I had the money to keep it on the road. What car is the car closest to an audi with better reliability?
a Lexus is the same if not better, its just a high end Toyota is basically all it is,but a well built one,it doesn't compromise on luxury or performance,it has both, and will last as long if not longer than an Audi will, good luck. What car is the car closest to an audi with better reliability?VW PASSAT
VolvoWhat car is the car closest to an audi with better reliability?BMW!!! 5 series or 3 series. i have 1 myself! trust me, cant go wrong with the world best! What car is the car closest to an audi with better reliability?
Wow nobody has mentioned Infiniti yet. Very surprising to me.
"This engine family is widely considered to be the world's benchmark V6 engine for its combination of smoothness, reliability and high power output. The VQ series is the only engine to be honored by Ward's 10 Best Engines list every year since the list's inception."
That is a strong selling point to me.
The answer to this question is an AUDI. If you want an Audi MB, BMW,Lexus, Acura, or what ever car you want then buy that car. Audi make the most amazing cars and if you take care of your car with its maintenance then you will never have any issues. I have had Audi's for ever and i have never had anything major go wrong with my cars. Sure an Audi may cost more to repair but you are buying a luxury car. If you can spend the money to buy a high end car then be prepared to pay luxury maintenance and repair bills also. What car is the car closest to an audi with better reliability?
New or Used? With "new fuels" on the horizon. My personal choice would first be used. Second (I discovered this quite by accident but love it!) buy a pre-1980 Mercedes 280 too 450 "SL" model. Gas engine, always adult owned , rear wheel driving/independent suspension. You'll find their cheaper than you think. and what a great car! Got family or something not so flashy? My 1978 280E, 4 door, Leather, air, power moon roof etc. . .all for $1500. And what a Smooooooth ride!
Cadillac
definitely something japanese.
The big three Jap. premium brands, Lexus, Infiniti and Acura.
I just came off a 3 year 2005.5 audi a4 lease, the car was great and performance for its 2.0 liter turbo was pretty damn good, but reliability was disgusting to be fair.
I had a family member get a lexus is250 recently and the car handles and feels very close to that. Others might say infiniti G35 or G37.
A hard question. I would rely on unbiased data such as the JD Power Consumer Satisfaction Index surveys made each year for the leading national car markets. They consider all aspects, including reliability.
Personal opinions based on own experience and preference, though provided in good faith, are statistically insignificant and may prove missleading.
Audi are good, but Mercedes are hewn from one lump of stone, and last longer than a cathedral does!

BMW 325 is the best.
Best car for reliability is "Saab" they are designed by a company with engineers that know what they are doing and the cars last what seems like forever with very little maintenance. The Saab with turbo charged engines are quick when it counts. And the sound system and interiors are nicely done. Go to your local Saab dealer and try one out and see what you think for yourself? Check out their website: http://www.saabusa.com/
if you want a car that's simular to an audi get a VW. Audis are just high end VWs.
If your looking for reliability I would go with a Lexus or an Acura, both Japanese makes, smooth cars, and if kept nice will run for a long time. Japanese cars are the best built cars on the road.
If your just looking for a luxurious car then stay in Germany and look at Mercedes and BMW, both expensive to keep up but nice cars.
If safety is your thing than I recomend a Volvo or a Saab. Saabs are nice cars that get great miliage (we currently have a saab 9-5 and get about 30 mpg highway)

Inspection doesn't pass on my 98 audi a4 quattro because its not reading the obd? What could it be?
Could it be a wire or the computer? The only light thats on is the airbag light on, but i dont think that has anything to do with it.Inspection doesn't pass on my 98 audi a4 quattro because its not reading the obd? What could it be?Could be bad wiring a lose connector. Sounds like it may be a tough one to find. Your best bet is to call a couple of Audi shops in your area and see if they have ever had this problem. It may take a couple of hours to find the problem so be prepared to pay for that time.
Is it worth buying a BMW 3 series or a Audi S5?
I have no idea what to get. The Audi looks amazing especially the interoir , but the specs kinda suck, the 3 series looks really ugly to me, but has better specs. and which one would be cheaper to maintain? Is it worth buying a BMW 3 series or a Audi S5?Neither will be cheap to maintain; the parts are expensive and so is the labor to work on both. That said, BMW generally has a better reputation as far as needing repairs. From what I've read, Audis seem to need a lot of them.
Test drive both and see which one you like better, as that's more important. Whatever you get should last a long time provided it gets all the regular maintenance, and it isn't hot-rodded all over the place. Is it worth buying a BMW 3 series or a Audi S5?They both are gonna cost some money. in my opinion get BMW i havnt really been a fan of audi because almost all the audis i have rode in i heard a lot of road noise and ended up being the wheel bearings going bad which are not cheap at all. the M3 is a really nice car all around the s5 not so much. but thats all my opinion dont let me or anybody else make your mind up. drive both and see which one fits you betterIs it worth buying a BMW 3 series or a Audi S5?bmwromance novels

How does the Audi TT compare to the Porsche Cayman?
I've heard that the TT has immense luggage room since it's a hatchback. I'm interested in the PRACTICALITY of one versus the other, since I want to go camping and need some room to move. Seems like the Cayman is good for a couple soft sided bags, while the TT appears roomy. How does the Audi TT compare to the Porsche Cayman?the 2 are very different cars but the tt is much more pratical
How much money will it cost for me to replace a timing belt on an Audi a6 2.8 2001 quattro?
i have already replaced the water pump on it so no need to replace that. How much money will it cost for me to replace a timing belt on an Audi a6 2.8 2001 quattro?Your looking at about $800. The pump is behind the belt and is easy to change at that point thats why most shop do it at the same time. To get the belt off that car is a lot of labor as you need to move the front bumper so you can get at it. If you did not put in a new thermostat I would do that since again you have to remove all the same stuff to get to it.How much money will it cost for me to replace a timing belt on an Audi a6 2.8 2001 quattro? You also need to replace the tensioner, thermostat, and rollers. Give or take $750-1000.
Does anyone know what type of a 1994 Audi has a spoiler?
I know there are CS, 100, 90, Quatro, etc... But is there one type that specifically comes with a spoiler standard?Does anyone know what type of a 1994 Audi has a spoiler? The only Audi I can think of that came with a standard spoiler for 1994 was the VERY special RS2. It was based on the Audi 80 wagon, with a 315 horsepower 5 cylinder engine and Porsche suspension and brakes. It did 0-62 in under 5 seconds. I think less than 3,000 were manufactured.Does anyone know what type of a 1994 Audi has a spoiler? The 1994 Audi 90 CS quattro AWD sedan does, I don't think any of the others did.Does anyone know what type of a 1994 Audi has a spoiler? You have mixed up types and specs.
The types are 80, 90, 100, V8, S2, S6 all available as 93 year model in 1994
80 sports came with a spoiler as std.

RS2 saloon not std production run so not sure ( did they make one in 93???)

How does the Audi TT Quattro compare with other cars of its type?
And secondly, what do you think of the cosmetic exterior design of the series? How does the Audi TT Quattro compare with other cars of its type? There isn't another competitor with a two door hatchback offering AWD. The Nissan 350Z is performance oriented and offers 300 horsepower, but is rear wheel drive and a real bumpy ride. The Mitsubishi Eclipse GT is front wheel drive with 263 HP, but doesn't have the breaking, handling, or ride of the TT. The Mercedes C-Class Kompressor Coupe hatchback is RWD and discontinued after 2005, and the BMW 318I is RWD and discontinued after 1998.
Check out the new TT for 2008- it has 250 HP AWD with a 0-60 of 5.5-5.7 seconds. Overall the older and redesigned versions look pretty impressive, but they don't vary much in looks or design from a VW Beetle. The quality is just as bad too- Audi enthusiasts will disagree, but check out Forbes, Carfax, or Consumer Guide online and the ratings for mechanical quality are less than stellar. Add to this the 40,000+ price tag and it's a lot of money for a little hatchback.
Have you checked out the new BMW 3 series coupe? For around the same price as a TT quattro you can get a 328 xi with AWD (Xdrive) and a 335xi AWD next fall 2007. The Xdrive is overall not as reliable as the AWD quattro, but the BMW 3 series has better braking/handling, mechanical quality, and resale value. Test drive each and you'll know what I'm talking about. How does the Audi TT Quattro compare with other cars of its type?I think it is a unique car. In its market segment, it is the only ALL WHEEL DRIVE car. Also it is the safest in its class. The quality of the material used and the attention to detail is unsurpassed. The cosmetic design is timeless. It was a concept car in 1996 and came to fruition in 1999 and it still does not look dated. Also the new design slated for 2008 MY is so awesom
