Can I make a Audi a6 comply with emissions?

The Audi a6 2001 im looking at apparently does not comply with regulations because it was imported after the new emissions rules took effect in New Zealand. Is there anything I can do that will make it comply?Can I make a Audi a6 comply with emissions?imported from where? get the emissions tested before you do anything, they may well be below the specs you think they don't comply with
