I was thinking of buying one last year but waited when I heard that they were going to make a 3 door version. I can't seem to find it listed on their website or in any magazines for 2007 - anyone know why? When and why did Audi stop making the A2?The Audi A2 was a premium supermini produced from 1999 to 2005. The last cars left the Neckarsulm plant in July 2005
The A2 was built using considerable aluminium alloy content, providing significant weight advantage over similar sized cars. Unfortunately, the cost of working with aluminium, particularly with small production runs, meant that the A2 was more expensive than its competitors. Thus the slow sales and lack of marketing from Audi.
Despite earlier rumours towards the end of the A2s production life about a second generation Audi A2, it is thought that Audi instead plans to launch a more conventional Audi A1 model around 2009 to compete with the MINI.
There is no official word from Audi. When and why did Audi stop making the A2?
The Audi A2 was ceased in 2006 due to poor sales figures and the fact that it no longer fitted into the "Vorsprung Durch Technik" design programme.
A similarly shaped new model (tall and short) is due in September 2009 to rival the Mini. More practicality is hoped for, with Audi turning to sister Volkswagen for influence. When and why did Audi stop making the A2?cos their crap hahahaha
This should explain itWhen and why did Audi stop making the A2?They never ever made a 3 door versionWhen and why did Audi stop making the A2?
The A2 did not exist in 3 doors. It was too expensive to produce (because of its aluminum structure) and pricing was high. They might produce a new baby Audi (smaller than the A3), it may be named A1 or A2, will not be aluminum structured, and might share its mechanical components with VW Lupo.
Hi 2006 the last one rolled of the prodution line, but the all new a2 will be going into production soon but its not an all alu shell like the last one,When and why did Audi stop making the A2?
call a dealer and ask...easy huh...lol
