How many hours should it take for a good mechanic to replace an alternator in a 1998 Audi A6?

just a guess , it could be weird on an audi. i'm no mechanic and i can change an alternator in like an hour.How many hours should it take for a good mechanic to replace an alternator in a 1998 Audi A6?I'm not sure but mechanics use a book that describes each type of job they do and bill according to the hours the book says it should take.
