On a 1996 Audi A4 2.8 do I need to drain the oil to replaced the oil pressure sender?

Can I replaced it if I jack up the car and go under on a creeper? And do I have to remove anything to get to the Oil pressure sender?On a 1996 Audi A4 2.8 do I need to drain the oil to replaced the oil pressure sender?the pressure sender is on the output of the oil pump, so if its not running, no oil will come out. dont know for sure but it should be reachable.
