How does the Audi TT Quattro compare with other cars of its type?

And secondly, what do you think of the cosmetic exterior design of the series? How does the Audi TT Quattro compare with other cars of its type? There isn't another competitor with a two door hatchback offering AWD. The Nissan 350Z is performance oriented and offers 300 horsepower, but is rear wheel drive and a real bumpy ride. The Mitsubishi Eclipse GT is front wheel drive with 263 HP, but doesn't have the breaking, handling, or ride of the TT. The Mercedes C-Class Kompressor Coupe hatchback is RWD and discontinued after 2005, and the BMW 318I is RWD and discontinued after 1998.

Check out the new TT for 2008- it has 250 HP AWD with a 0-60 of 5.5-5.7 seconds. Overall the older and redesigned versions look pretty impressive, but they don't vary much in looks or design from a VW Beetle. The quality is just as bad too- Audi enthusiasts will disagree, but check out Forbes, Carfax, or Consumer Guide online and the ratings for mechanical quality are less than stellar. Add to this the 40,000+ price tag and it's a lot of money for a little hatchback.

Have you checked out the new BMW 3 series coupe? For around the same price as a TT quattro you can get a 328 xi with AWD (Xdrive) and a 335xi AWD next fall 2007. The Xdrive is overall not as reliable as the AWD quattro, but the BMW 3 series has better braking/handling, mechanical quality, and resale value. Test drive each and you'll know what I'm talking about. How does the Audi TT Quattro compare with other cars of its type?I think it is a unique car. In its market segment, it is the only ALL WHEEL DRIVE car. Also it is the safest in its class. The quality of the material used and the attention to detail is unsurpassed. The cosmetic design is timeless. It was a concept car in 1996 and came to fruition in 1999 and it still does not look dated. Also the new design slated for 2008 MY is so awesom
