Audi a3 key fob battery replacement problem, how can i reprogram the key back to the car?

my friend recently replaced the battery in the keyfob of his Audi a3 1.8

Now he cant start his car

I believe the memory was lost in the key when the battery was removed

Does anybody know how to reprogram the key to start his carAudi a3 key fob battery replacement problem, how can i reprogram the key back to the car?no you don't have to have it reprogrammed at the dealer. and yes he could have lost the memory. especially if he had it without a battery for some time.. in the owners manual it should give u a sequence of buttons to press or commands - such as flipping the ignition key on or off so many times etc. but if its not in the Manuel. go to auto zone and look it up in the repair manual there. and if not there. look for some Audi forums and/or a Audi club. and ask the guys thereAudi a3 key fob battery replacement problem, how can i reprogram the key back to the car?no need for an audi dealer to reprogram, you just need 2 keys for your A3 to reprogram after replacing battery, look here for what to do...
