i just bought an AUDI A4. its a 52 reg and rattles as if it wants to cut off for 10minutes from start. it also emits too much water on the the exhaust, I suspect it is mixing water and oll but when you check the oil it does not seem to have water on the deep stick or on the oil filler cap. What could be the problem.Audi A4 i just bought has too much water from the exhaust? You may have a blown head gasket. It will show water out the exhaust after the engine is warmed up. Water while the engine is cold is normal until the enigne warms up. Watch the coolant reservoir does it go down alot. The spark plugs are a good tip off if you have a blown a head gasket. The plugs will look like they have been steam cleaned, like new if you have water getting into the cylinder from a blown head gasket. Check out your local auto parts store and ask to rent their radiator pressure checker. They may even volunteer to hook it up in theparking lot and tell you what they see. It not only will show if your radiator is good, it will also show the water leaks into the head gasket area. Some techs put a dye in the water then pressurize the water system and look for the water leak. If some one just sold you this car. Get it checked pronto and go back for some warranty work if your covered.Audi A4 i just bought has too much water from the exhaust?Water is a normal byproduct of combustion, for 1 gallon of gasoline expect 1 quart of water minimum to be a byproduct.
I answered a question similar to this one earlier concerning a VW, which shares the same engine, Have the oil pressure checked and be sure you are using the correct oil filter.Audi A4 i just bought has too much water from the exhaust?http://www.tt-forum.co.uk/forum/viewforu鈥?/a>
