I own a 98 Audi A4 and I have two questions about it. First, how do you reprogram the alarm remote when you put new batteries in it. When I looked in the manual it said you have to take it to an Audi dealership to do it. I'm not paying $100.00 to program a remote because my batteries went dead. Second, I installed a aftermarket radio in the car and now my alarm keeps activating. I brought my car to a mechanic I know and he said I don't have a short and he hooked it up to his diagnostic machine and he said it came back with no error codes. He said that the stock radio had a plug-in for the alarm that the aftermarket radio might not have, so the alarm ''thinks'' the radio is stolen. He thinks an Audi dealership would be my only hope but before I go there, I figured I try here. If anyone has the right answer I'll buy you a beer. Please help. Thanks.I have a two part question about a 1998 Audi A4 problem I'm having?you don't have to go to a dealer for that, you need two keys. Put 1 in the ignition and turn it on but don't start the car, then put the second key in the drivers door and turn the key in the door to the unlock position and hold it for 5 sec. and then press the unlock button and then do the same for the lock. as for the radio a dealer is your only option.I have a two part question about a 1998 Audi A4 problem I'm having?
