I have a 2001 Audi TT that I have recently bought and it has a manual transmission.
I have been driving it around with no problem but are there any suggestions to saving gas?
And is it bad to go over 3000 rpm? thanks in advance :)When is it too high for the RPM to reach while driving an 01 Audi TT?Its not bad as long as its not done reguraly and if its not near the redline. There are several tricks with a manual to save gas. Here are a few: Skipping gears (ex. I go from 3rd to 5th in my car when i don't need to accelerate as fast and that saves gas and wear and tear *BE sure to let the engine RPM go down a little further to match the higher gear), also put it in neutral when coming to a stop (especially at highway speeds, you can see MPG temperarly spike to 100-125mpg until you slow down), plus many more I can't think ofWhen is it too high for the RPM to reach while driving an 01 Audi TT?That is a sports car designed to be driven hard. 3000 rpm's is nothing on that engine 6000 is probably about the max. Check the tachometer and see if there is red or a different color change in the higher rpm range and try to keep it out of there. The lower the RPM's on your engine will yield a higher MPG.
