yes, as all have said the TDI is turbo diesel, rather than gasoline powered. beware however, the TDI being brought to the U.S. is only front wheel drive to boast about fuel economy. one of the reasons to own an audi is the quattro all wheel drive system. the 2010 a3 2.0 quattro gas model has 200 horsepower and 207 foot-pounds of torque. the TDI model has 140 horsepower and 236 foot-pounds of torque. TDI gets 41mpg's on the highway, while the gas model gets 28.
