Is it just the same exterior and different engines?Whats the difference between the audi s4 and rs?The RS is the more modified version of the S4's engine, it has MANY differences but heres some:



The 2007 S4 has a 340 HP, 4.2 L FSI V8 Engine

(0-60 in 5.2 seconds)

Top speed is at 155 (I've gone to 160 in my S4)



The 2007 RS4 has a 420 HP, 4.2L FSI V8 Engine

(0-60 in 4.8 seconds)

Top speed is at 186.



Think of the A4 as a base version, the S4 is a more sports tuned suspension, while the RS4 is the ultimate version of a sports luxury car.



While all of these cars share the same suspension, it's tuned very differently. The RS4 incorporates the S4 engine but tunes it even more aggressively. It also shares traits with its cousin the Lamborghini Gallardo (steering, wheels, interior).



In terms of aerodynamics and lines, you WILL notice a difference in the fenders and especially the grills if you park a S4 by a RS4

An RS4 shares some of the same components and sheet metal but has different lines to the car, different front fenders, hood, etc.

The base 4.2 liter engine used in the S4 is aggresively tuned in the RS4; many different parts.

The 155mph speed limitation is electronically controlled and all Audis are supposedly shipped with it (at least here in Germany). My GPS has told me I've gone 194mph so far in my RS4, which did not come speed limited.

When my friend parks his S4 next to my RS4 they look worlds apart; same size but the lines are different. Same tailights though. I rarely see either S4s or RS4s on the autobahn; even fewer R8s.
