Are there any American cars that are similar to the Audi S4?

So originally I wanted an Audi S4, but I guess now I would like to go American. But the thing is, I don't really know of a mid sized sport car like the S4. I am looking for something that holds 4-5 people and has decent torque and horsepower. I know of the pontiac G8, but Im not sure if thats the one. Well Pontiac was once great, but its too bad they had to go. Their ops don't exist anymore so those remaining are sold on short warranties, and more limited availability of parts in the near future seems likely. I've owned an A4 Sport for 5 years now and it still runs perfect. I hear all the complaints and there are little wear and tear issues with any car, but overall its been great and only needed low cost maintenance. The S4 is an even better drive so that's a great pick up! The only downside is German lemons can be very expensive so I wouldn't buy anything without a good warranty. Audi warranties are fully transferable and remain in place even after major work is done and documented in their shops so a manufacturers warranty gives you full protection.Are there any American cars that are similar to the Audi S4?why the switch? It is difficult to find a car that is comparable to the S4 that is coming from America, because America has only recently started trying to compete in the compact/mid-size Euro sports segment. I would not go with the G8 since Pontiac is now finished.



The closest options from the U.S. shores are going to be:



-Dodge Charger SRT, with the Hemi V8 engine

-Cadillac CTS-V, it has special tuning, bigger engine, and sports suspension

-Ford Taurus SHO, although this is definitely in a larger size class, AWD available

-Ford Focus RS, although this is smaller than you may want
