What is the best tire for a 2003 Audi A6 Quattro driven in the Northeast?

I am looking for recommendations on tires that are good in the snow and rain as well as dry weather. I am a "spirited" driver who has had P6s (suck--gone in 10,000 miles) and Toyo Proxes (great). Alternatives? Size is 215/55 16.
